Oak & Glass Staircase and Bookshelves

Our staircase was included in this award winning garden room extension. The project was awarded the Edinburgh Architectural Association Design Awards - Small Project 2007 First Prize for the Architect, David Blaikie.

The brief was to design and build a glass, steel and solid oak staircase which incorporated storage beneath and a carefully calculated oak bookcase alongside which follows the stair up to the landing above. The oak veneer storage area continues in a wall to ceiling run to include an integrated wine storage unit.
